Description:
First edition. While conducting research on locusts, David Buxton, the son of the late Charles Roden Buston, M.P., travelled widely in Ethiopia and visited many parts of the country not previously seen by Europeans. These adventurous journeys rank with the travels of the great explorers of the past. He is a keen observer and naturalist and his book is full of stories and information about the people and their customs, as well as on the birds, animals and plants of the country. The author also made a study of the old rock-hewn churches, probably among the oldest Christian churches in the world. Illustrated with photographs by the author.
