Description:

Thin-paper edition in one volume, complete and unabridged, reprint (first publshed in one volume, 1926; originally published in two volumes, Cambridge University Press, 1888). Introduction by T.E. Lawrence. Includes an 'Index and Glossary of Arabic words' and a large folding map, 'A Sketch Map Itinerararium of Part of North Western Arabia and Negd'. Charles Montagu Doughty (1843-1926), was an English poet, writer and traveller. He travelled in the Middle East living with the Bedouin during the 1870s. In the Introduction T.E. Lawrence states, 'I have studied it for ten years, and have grown to consider it a book not like other books, but something particular, a bible of its kind.'
