2 vols, 8vo, orig. green cloth, gt, top edge gilt, other edges uncut. Spines slightly faded. Occasional light foxing; endpapers browned/spotted. Vg in well-preserved d/w's (slightly chipped to spine ends; in removable, protective sleeves). Both volumes signed by the author. T.A. Coward (1867-1933) was a British ornithologist and naturalist who wrote extensively on the natural and local history of Cheshire. His works, including The Birds of the British Isles and their Eggs (1920-25) and The Birds of Cheshire (1900), are regarded as some of the most important works introducing ornithology to a much wider audience.
