Reprint from Recusant History Vol. 16. Paper discussing the identity of a human skull at Wardley Hall, Salford, in Greater Manchester as that of the martyr, Ambrose Edward Barlow (1585-1641). Enclosed is a letter from the author, Joseph E. Bamber (d. 1983), to anatomist, Prof. A.J. Cave, who had a shared interest investigating the remains of Catholic martyrs. Also included is a set of 7 b/w photographs (2 of X-rays) (2 copies of each, 14 in total), of the skull of Bl. Miles Gerard (d.1590), sent by Prof Cave to Bamber.
