With an introduction by W. Carruthers. Trans. Linn. Soc., 2nd Ser. - Botany, Vol. IV, Pt 1. Naturalist Alexander Whyte (1834-1908) worked in Malawi and Uganda under the British administration from 1891-1904. He sent significant collections of plants to Kew and the British Museum between 1893 and 1899.
