Description:
Includes the 1000+ species of moth that have been recorded on and around the Bere Peninsula, a largely rural area of West Devon bordering the rivers Tamar and Tavy. The book contains detailed information on historic and recent moth records, along with notes on their larval food plants, flight dates, and wider distribution. Not primarily intended as an identification guide, but the text is illustrated with over 600 photos nearly all taken by the author, complemented by identification tips and aspects of their life-histories.

An excellent view of the wide range of moth species to be found in a relatively small geographic area. It's especially interesting to learn about the rarities to be found. It's very well written with excellent photographs. This is not an id book (there are already many printed and online resources for this) but it does have a wealth of information about foodplants, behaviour and habitats. I hugely recommend this book - and not just to those living on the Bere Peninsula.
