Description:
Sir Eric Ansorge (1887-1977) entered the Indian Civil Service, aged 23 and was posted to Bengal in 1911. He was a Colonial Administrator in the states of Orissa and Bihar and during the second world war was war adviser to the Governor of Orrisa. He retired in 1946 and was knighted in recognition of his work. On returning to England he lived at Chalfont St Peter, Buckinghamshire.
Condition
Short obituary notice about Ansorge pasted to title page, and photocopy of further details about his life inserted. Neat annotations to text about collecting locations in north Buckinghamshire by George Higgs. Wrappers slightly worn. Good.
