Edited by Sir Francis Darwin (1848-1925), a botanist and son of Charles Darwin. Francis Darwin's books on his father have provided the basis for all subsequent scientific biographies and papers on Darwin.

3 vols, 8vo, orig. grey-green cloth, blind double-ruled border to boards, gilt title and rules to spines; a little rubbed to extremities, minor wear to the foot of one spine; a few conrners lightly bumped; endpapers and facing leaves browned; minor spotting to edges of textblock of Vol. III. Vg set. With bookplates of Leicestershire botanist, F.A. Sowter (1899-1972).
