Text Chinese/English. A taxonomic treatment of the 37 species of genus Cypripedium found in China, plus some infraspecific taxa (approx. 70 percent of the total 51 species recognized in the genus). Most of the Chinese species treated here have been observed in the wild. They are all provided with colour photographs of the plants and their habitats. The non-Chinese species are also listed, each with at least one colour photograph. In addition, the generic history, morphology, phytogeography, molecular phylogeny, conservation, hybridization, cultivation and propagation are also briefly introduced.
