First edition. A report of the marine research carried out in the Clyde Sea area, using the research yacht 'Medusa', during the period 1884-1892 under the leadership of John Murray. He recorded aspects of the geology and hydrography of the Clyde Sea together with faunal distributions. The results from this extensive period of research were collated into this report which remains one of the most significant records of benthic fauna of this area. Includes a Bibliography of work relating to the Clyde fauna dating from 1812.
