[The original version (edited by Darwin's son Francis, in The Life and Letters of Charles Darwin, (1887)), had portions expunged where it was thought they would reflect negatively either on the family, or on the reputation of other individuals. These sections were restored to the 1958 version]. Also includes Darwin's contribution to Erasmus Darwin by Ernst Krause (1879), and a consolidated index to the entire 29-volume series, The Works of Charles Darwin, of which this is the final volume.
