Greece has one of the richest and most spectacular floras in Europe and includes 193 species and subspecies of orchids (in 19 genera).
This publication is the culmination of 20 years studying and recording the orchid flora of Greece. Species descriptions are restricted to the information and features necessary for the separation of similar taxa. The photographs are intended to illustrate the variability within taxa and include specimens from across their geographical range. Distribution maps are provided for each taxon (subspecies, species, genera and family).
