Description:
Text Russian. An illustrated photographic guide to the Odonata of Russia. For the first time, the book provides a detailed description of the appearance, biology, distribution and distinctive features of all 156 species of dragonflies (Odonata) known from the territory of the Russian Federation, based on the authors' extensive data and existing scientific literature. Each species is illustrated with original photographs of adults of both sexes taken in nature, as well as variants of intraspecific variation. The introduction acquaints the reader with the structure, life cycle, lifestyle and classification of dragonflies. The detailed differences between similar species, combined with rich illustrative material and a detailed introduction, make it possible to identify dragonflies without the use of identification keys and in the absence of specialist knowledge.
The book is intended for a wide range of nature lovers, and provides a summary of the current information on dragonflies in Russia. It will also be useful for specialists in entomology.
