Description:

H.A. Ellis (d.1971) was an Australian government geologist. He was known as the last of the old style Australian geologist who surveyed using camels. The introduction explains that ‘In 1943, tantalum-bearing minerals assumed a high place on the list of important strategical minerals in relation to the production of certain types of war equipment, as a result the survey was carried out March-June 1944.

Condition
