Festschrift produced on the occasion of Prof. Frantiska Vejdovskeho's 90th birthday, with contributions by many of his colleagues, friends and pupils. Contributions in Czech, German, French and English. Prof. F. Vejdovsky (1849-1939) was an influential Czech zoologist. Most of his researches dealt with various groups of inverebrates, such as Protozoa, Annelida, Crustacea, etc. He was especially interested in spermatogenesis, but also devoted much study to freshwater hydrobiology.

8vo, qtr morocco, raised bands to spine (slightly faded), orig. front printed wrapper retained. From the library of Prof. J. Green (1928-2016) with his name to endpaper. Inscription, dated 1945, to Dr. [Clifford] Dobell, whose obituary of Prof. Vejdovskeho, reprinted from 'Nature' Vol. 156 (1945), is tipped in at the front. In his Obiturary Dobell states, 'As yet only one copy of this volume - surely unique in the annals of zoology - appears to have reached England.'
