Description:
This book is the first single volume to bring together information, photographs and maps on the 350 reptile species known from Oaxaca. The project is the culmination of some ten years of work and a great many people have given their support. The author has gathered a remarkable visual record, including images of species previously unpublished. The book will differ in several ways from other publications on the Mexican Herpetofauna by more details on ecology, more images per species, more informative maps, and natural history. The dichotomous keys are illustrated, introductory chapters discuss evolution, ecology and conservation in Oaxaca, and there is a snake scalation table, illustrated glossary, and medically accurate instructions for snakebite first aid.
