Second impression. The aims of the expedition were to gather seed from horticulturally promising species and to collect specimens for botanical study. Over 300 collections of seed were gathered from a variety of alpines, trees and shrubs. The practicalities of using Plant Tissue Culture as a means of introducing plants into cultivation were explored. Quality collections of pressed specimens of vascular plants, bryophytes and lichens were made from high-altitude localities on behalf of herbaria in Britain and Kashmir.
