Second edition. John Howard was a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons, London. This work was first published in three volumes, 1787-1794 the second edition later in two volumes in 1806. Page 172, Vol I, states ‘The plates are ‘taken from the Osteographia of the late Mr. Cheselden, to shew the appearance of a caries from a venereal cause’.
Condition
8vo, worn leather spine, becoming detached from front board; boards worn, without paper covering. Vol. I lacking half-title and title (pp. i-iv). Plates detached. Poor.
