8vo, orig. cloth, gilt title to spine and front board, spine slightly faded. Withdrawn from the Palaeontological Collections, University Museum, Oxford. Copious neat pencil annotations to endpapers and half-title. Signature of C.J. Bayzand to half-title. Charles John Bayzand (1878-1958) joined the Oxford University Museum in 1898 as a junior assistant, working under the direction of geology professor, William Johnson Sollas (1849–1936). Later Bayzand was promoted to the position of Demonstrator, in which role he undertook formal teaching duties. He retired from the Museum in 1948.
