Text Latin. Doctoral thesis of Rudolf Amandus Phillippi (1808-1904), on the Orthoptera (grasshoppers, crickets, cockroaches and earwigs) of Berlin. Philippi was a German naturalist who went to South America in 1851 and became Professor and Director of the Botanic Gardens of Santiago de Chile. He published more than 400, mostly botanical papers, between 1830 and 1904.
This copy does not have the two plates called for in the bibliographies quoted below, however, the plates are referred to there on the title page, 'Accedunt Tab. II coloratae'. This copy lacks any mention of plates on the title page or elsewhere. It would appear that it was issued in two versions - with or without plates.
