Description:
Text Spanish. Includes chapters on: systematics, origin and evolution, morphology and physiology, behaviour, habitat and a dichotomous key to family level for both adults and larvae. A brief introduction to each family is provided, followed by a total of 53 species accounts, illustrated with photographs of adults (both sexes) and information on etymology, history, distribution, adult and larval morphology, habitats, and behaviour. Each species is accompanied by two plates illustrating morphology (imagos and larvae) with a series of arrows highlighting the features described in the morphology section. A diagram showing local phenology, a map with the known distribution in the study area (in 10 x 10 UTM squares), and measurements of both larvae and adults are also given for each species. Finally, an appendix includes 5 sporadic, unconfirmed or not currently recoreded species.
