Description:

Three exquisite photographic works, illustrating three important conservation areas in Argentina. Each work is accompanied with a series of essays, by experts in the area.

The Monte Leon National Park is in Santa Cruz Province, Argentina. The area had been acquired through Conservación Patagónica, founded and directed by Kristine Tompkins; the land was then transferred to the National Parks National Administration in 2002, It covers 155,000 acres and 25 miles of Patagonian shoreline. It is known for such charismatic creatures as guanacos, pumas, and vast colonies of Magellanic penguins. The photographer Antonio Vizcaino takes readers on a visual tour of the park's natural features, exploring the wildlife and landforms.

Esteros del Iberá is a large wetland covering about 12,000 km² in the province of Corrientes in northeastern Argentina and is one of the largest freshwater wetlands in South America, The marshlands attract birdwatchers who come to see some 360 avian species. A native of Corrientes, world-class nature photographer Juan Ramon Diaz Colodrero spent years documenting the region's birdlife and other wild life in Esteros del Ibera.

The Perito Moreno National Park is located in the western region of Santa Cruz Province on the border with Chile. Its one of the earliest national parks in Argentina and is a magnet for intrepid travellers and ambitious alpinists.
