Monarcas [The Monarch Butterfly]

Text Spanish with Introduction in English by the Duke of Edinburgh. The author was a founding member and later, President of Monarca A.C., a civil association created to protect the winter sanctuaries of the Monarch butterfly. Monarca A.C. was responsible for promoting the Presidential Resolution declaring the Biosphere Reserve (50,000 hectares) for the protection of the Monarch Butterfly.

Vg in d/w (d/w with a few short tears, and minor loss to edges). Owner's book-plate. Inscribed, probably by the author, '... I sincerely hope we can one day show you this incredible phenomenon, that for me has always had a cosmic significance and great inspiration', together with a Christmas card from 'The Gottfrieds' loosely inserted.
