Text bilingual English/Japanese. Descriptions and full-color illustrations of 5106 species of marine mollusks found in Japanese and adjacent waters. The taxonomic coverages are all classes of marine molluscs, namely, aplacophorans, chitons, shell-bearing gastropods, opisthobranchs, scaphopods, bivalves, and cephalopods. Among the taxa in this volume are included micro-mollusks, which were seldom shown in conventional iconographies, newly discovered species, and deep sea species. This is the most reliable and comprehensive data source of molluscan fauna in the subarctic to subtropical Northwest Pacific and its marginal seas.
