Text Spanish. A compilation of current knowledge on the Iberian and Balearic neuropteran fauna. Allows identification to species and provides all available up-to-date information. Includes a brief introduction to the group and a historical overview of the knowledge of the lacewing fauna of the Iberian Peninsula and the Balearic Islands. Distribution maps (10km2 UTM grid maps) showing geographical distribution for all 196 species of Neuroptera (Neuroptera: Megaloptera, Raphidioptera, Planipennia) known from the area, based on the compilation of the reliable or revised records found in the entomological literature (from the first record published by Linnaeus, 1789 to those published in 2012), on the material collected/studied in the past four decades, and on new, unpublished material recently studied by the authors. Based on more than 800 bibliographical references, with a total of 26,339 records, corresponding to the more than 50,979 specimens. Grouped by families, the 196 species known from this area are listed, with their commonly accepted and recognized synonyms, and/or with the different nomenclatural combinations under which each has been recorded, with comments on various bibliographical, faunistic, taxonomical and/or nomenclatural matters for certain taxa.
