In 1936, the British Government sent a mission to Lhasa, Tibet, under Mr. B. J. Gould. Spencer Chapman went as his private secretary. They remained in Lhasa until 17th February 1937, and those months are described vividly here. Together with his photographs, the account casts a fascinating light on Tibet.

8vo, orig. cloth, spine slightly dulled, one corner bumped. Vg. From the library of entomologist and traveller Guillaume Marie de Rougemont (1945-2020), with his bookplate. Also includes two collectable Tibetan 100 Srang bank notes used between 1939-1959.
