This book was something a disappointment. It is a small volume 12cm x 18cm, 177pp that is merely a reproduction of Megnin's work of 1894. It covers the fauna of cadavers in free air, tombs and submerged and a section on application to legal medicine. It is far from comprehensive regarding species associated with dead bodies. Though in French, I had hoped the illustrations would be useful, but there are only 10 plates, 3 are of mites and two of just one species each. The book is of historical interest, but little more.
