Text German. Scarce. Johann Georg Friedrich Will (1815 -1868 ) was a German physician, scientist and zoologist. He received a Bavarian state grant to research marine animals of Trieste which ended in 1843. This work concerns Cnidaria (True jelly fish 'Schirmquallen' and siphonophores 'Röhrenquallen') and Ctenophora (comb jellies 'Rippenquallen) he observed at Triest, Autumn 1843. Includes original description of several species. Plates include 65 figures drawn by the author.
Condition
Small-4to (248x205mm), near cont. cloth-backed boards, slightly warped, orig. printed wrapper pasted to front board. Trace of longitudinal fold to text leaves. Occasional light spotting/foxing. Small institutional ink stamp to endpaper and title. Good.
