Hugh Newman provided researchers, collectors and garden lovers with butterflies. Among his clients was Winston Churchill, who periodically bought butterflies from his farm to release them in his garden at Chartwell. Newman was also an entomology writer and BBC radio presenter (Nature Parliament).
