Alpheus Hyatt (1838-1902) was an American zoologist and palaeontologist, who achieved eminence in the study of invertebrate fossil records, contributing to the understanding of the evolution of the cephalopods and of the development of primitive organisms.
Condition
4to, cloth, worn, spine chiped to head and foot with some loss, orig. wrappers bound at rear; hinges cracked and crudely repaired with tissue; ink spots to fore edge. Ex-lib.: a few ink-stamps. Plates clean and crisp.
