Two attractive hand coloured lithographic plates by the German illustrator Joseph Wolf (1820-1899) from, 'Descriptions of three new Species of Flying Squirrels in the Collection of the British Museum' by A. Günther, Proceedings of the Zoological Society of London, 1873. Depicts Pteromys tephromelas (Large black flying squirrel) and Sciuropterus pulverulentus.
Condition
230x150mm. Good. From the library of Keith Hyatt (d. 2021), acarologist at the Natural History Museum, London, and prominent member of the London Natural History Society, with his name to rear.
