Very up-to-date flora which may surprise traditionalists here and there. The big plus is that you can carry the book in your rucksack! But beware: the text is quite technical in many places; sometimes I feel, unnecessarily so. It was certainly not designed to offer the easiest way of identification. Very useful are the many comments on various taxa or groups of taxa. The book mentions all the problems there are and this is a great plus over many others which just pretend that everything can be determined with the same level of certainty. It is clear that in a one-volume work on the French flora one cannot expect lengthy descriptions, but I always found that there is enough information about the taxon, its distribution and its ecology. Considering how much older the latest floras for France are this is a real leap forward. French botany has landed in the 21st century!
