First edition. Privately published. Rare. Includes descriptions of new species. Small printed slip tipped in facing title offers the author's duplicate specimens of Aculeate Hymenoptera, 'set and in the best possible condition', for exchange 'with his brother entomologists for either good Coleoptera or Lepidoptera.' (with m/s note on the history of Shuckard's collection, '... perished in transit from London to Brisol').

8vo, orig. cloth, rebacked, preserving original spine (faded). Two plates heavily foxed. Occasional marginal spotting. Ownership label of William Garneys, Repton, to endpaper.
