Part I: Classification; Part II: Terms of Science. First edition. Engraved plates by Henderson, Miller, and Reinagle. Vol. I: 86 plates (plus a duplicate of Plate 21) + 5 tables; Vol. II: 85 plates, 24 engraved section titles. The plates are erratically numbered. Stafleu & Cowan give 93 and 84 plates in the two volumes (but do not mention the charts), but state that in all copies seen by them plate numbers differ. Nissen calls for 52 and 84 plates.

Condition
2 vols bound in one, 8vo, recent half calf (incorrectly titled Vol. I to spine - both vols are present), rubbed/scuffed, marbled boards, edges and endpapers. Vol. I lacks half-title; old water stain to prelims and one plate; title page and first plate laid down. A few plates with some minor offsetting, otherwise clean.
