Description:
Two original plain lithographic plates by the South African illustrator George Henry Ford who joined the British Museum in 1837, to accompany a paper ‘Descriptions of some new or imperfectly know species of reptiles from the Camaroon Mountains by Albert Günter. Proceedings of the Zoological Society of London, 1874 One plate illustrates the Cameroon Two-horned Mountain Chameleon montium. The second plate illustrates the Spectral Pygmy Chameleon Rampholeon spectrum and Günther's black snake, Bothrolycus ater.
Condition
230x150mm. Some light foxing. Owner's name in ink to rear. Good.
