Condition
12 parts in 4 vols, 8vo, finely bound in cont. red half morocco, spines with raised bands, gilt titles, rich gilt-tooling to compartments, marbled edges and endpapers. (Bound at the Operative Jewish Converts' Institution, Palestine Place, Bethnal Green, London, with small printed ticket to rear of each volume). Rubbed; minor wear to corners. Paper browned to margins; occasional short marginal tear. Withdrawn from an institutional library with neat ink stamps to title pages, small paper labels to spines. Very good. Name of E.Y. Western to endpapers. Western was a private entomological collector whose collection of 10,000 beetles was donated to the Natural History Museum after his death in 1924.
