Description:
Text Chinese, names in Latin. This volume is based on the specimens and biological information obtained by the Hengduan Mountain Butterfly Survey Team through intermittent field surveys from 2005 to 2020, and was written after 5 years of indoor work from 2017 to 2021. The specimens used to make colour plates were all collected through field surveys during the work. From the perspective of animal geography and community ecology, this volume systematically and comprehensively investigates, sorts, summarizes, catalogs and reports on the species diversity, spatiotemporal distribution, population size, and adult appearance time of butterflies in the Hengduan Mountains. A total of 387 species of Nymphalidae are recorded, belonging to 18 subfamilies and 111 genera. It has important reference value for the classification research, resource protection, and development and utilization of butterflies, and lays a good foundation for further research on their origin and evolution.
