Description:
Text Turkish/English. Includes the 162 species of butterfly found in this southern province of Turkey, on the Mediterranean coast, bordered by Syria to the south and east, with several photographs and brief notes on occurrence, distribution, altitudinal range, flight period, habitat and larval hostplants for each. 38 species have been added to the 124 recorded in Die Tagfalter der Türkei (Hesselbarth et al., 1995) from this poorly studied southern province. All the species in the book have been identified and photographed by the authors in their natural habitats.
The taxonomic classification of the species and their Turkish names, are taken from The Red Book of Butterflies in Turkey (Karaçetin & Welch, 2011), A Field Guide to the Butterflies of Turkey (Baytaş, 2008), Butterflies of Europe and the Mediterranean area (Thsikolovets, 2011) and the lists published by Koçak & Kemal (2009).
