Description:
Text French. Rodents, deer, bats... wild mammals, from the rarest to the most common, live in our neighborhood without us even noticing them. However, their habitat is fragile, their way of life affected by our uses of a common territory, whether in the city or in the countryside. Knowing these species, their distribution, their needs and their specificities allows us to better protect them in order to promote the extraordinary ecological diversity that they represent.
The result of patient work collecting data throughout the Maine-et-Loire department, and nourished by the necessary comparisons with previous periods, this atlas takes stock of the issue, in maps, graphs and detailed monographs by species. It draws up a current assessment of populations and makes recommendations for the future.
Under the coordination of associations and reference organizations on these subjects, this collective work is illustrated with many
photographs by the best animal photographers.
A reference work but also a pleasure for all ages, which develops our growing interest in environmental issues linked to the maintenance of wild fauna, here in a representative department of the West of France.
