Called 'second edition' in Preface. With a memoir of Rev. D. Landsborough. Final version of Rev. David Landsborough's works on the Isle of Arran, edited and completed after his death by his son, who contributed chapters on topography, antiquities, memoir, etc. Landsborough the elder had previously written Arran a Poem ... And Excursions to Arran ... (1847) and Excursions to Arran ... (1852), both of which dealt with the natural history of the island.

Cr. 8vo, orig. green cloth, blind-stamped dec. borders, gilt roundel within blind dec. frame to front board, gt title to spine. Minor wear to head of spine. Vg. Inscribed, 'To James Gibson Esq., with the Publisher's regards'.
