2 vols, 8vo, orig. blue publisher's cloth, gt, teg, minor spotting to fore edges; occasional light foxing. A very good set from the library of K.G.V. Smith (1929-2017), leading British dipterist at the Natural History Museum, London, and editor of the Entomologist’s Monthly Magazine. 1-page autograph manuscript letter (torn without loss and lightly foxed), signed and dated 1932, from the author (during the preparation of this work) to C. Morley (English entomologist from Suffolk, specialising in Hymenoptera, and author of (among many other works), the 5-volume, 'Ichneumonologia Britannica' (1903-1914)), requesting his assistance with localities and and any information on parasites bred from Neuroptera. Morley is briefly acknowledged by the author in the Preface.
