Descriptions of five new shiny Dichaetomyia species from Madagascar (Diptera: Muscidae)
By: EBERHARD ZIELKE
Page: 81–103
Type: Paper
Synopsis:
Five new species of the genus Dichaetomyia are described from Madagascar as
Dichaetomyia ambrea sp. n., Dichaetomyia besseta sp. n., Dichaetomyia doubla
sp. n., Dichaetomyia montea sp. n., and Dichaetomyia ranoa sp. n. The body colour
of the five species is shiny metallic blue, green or violet and the colour combinations
are similar to Dichaetomyia tristis (Zielke, 1972). The species, however, differ
significantly from one another in other taxonomic characteristics which are
commonly used in other genera to distinguish species.

Annotated Checklist of the British Dacnusini and the Dapsilarthra genus group of the Alysiini (Hymenoptera: Braconidae, Alysiinae)
By: H. CHARLES J. GODFRAY
Page: 109–145
Type: Paper
Synopsis:
An annotated checklist of the British Dacnusini and the Dapsilarthra genus group of the
Alysiini (Hymenoptera: Braconidae, Alysiinae) is provided. In addition to a species list with
synonymy (based on Broad, Shaw & Godfray 2016) further details are given of: (i) intrageneric
groupings; (ii) a reference to each species’ treatment in the unindexed and multipart major
revisions of Nixon & Griffith; (iii) a hypothesis about host range, where known (about three
quarters of species), and the evidence upon which this is based; (iv) DNA barcode BIN references
where available (currently for about half the species); (v) any further relevant notes. Brief mention
is made of 10 likely new species which require further material before they can be described. 23
new ‘nation’ records (i.e. for Scotland, Wales etc.) and 29 new parasitoid-host associations are
recorded.
Empididae (Diptera: Brachycera) of the Maltese Islands
By: MARTIN J. EBEJER
Page: 146–150
Type: Paper
Synopsis:
An account is given of the Empididae of Malta. The eleven species known to inhabit the
islands are listed with data for the eight species not previously published. The paucity of species
on the Maltese Islands is briefly discussed in the context of the distribution of the family and some
aspects of its ecology.
