Procridinae and Zygaeninae records from Greece, 1960–2015 (Lepidoptera: Zygaenidae)
By: JOHN G. COUTSIS
Page: 85–97
Type: Paper
Synopsis:
The included list of recorded species is the result of fifty-five years of casual collecting of
Greek Zygaenidae by the author. Apart from this list, the present paper also includes capture
localities, dates and altitudes, as well as locality maps that hopefully may form the basis for
future, more detailed distribution maps.

Bucculatrix kaptarae sp. nov. (Lepidoptera: Bucculatricidae) from the mountains of western Crete
By: Zdenko Tokár
Page: 99–102
Type: Paper
Synopsis:
A new species of Bucculatricidae, Bucculatrix kaptarae sp. nov., is described from the Lefka
ori (White Mountains) of western Crete. The adult and the genitalia of both sexes are figured.
A new English locality for Pterostichus cristatus (Dufour, 1820) (Coleoptera: Carabidae): a relict indigenous population?
By: S. J. CORBETT & P. F. WHITEHEAD
Page: 103-108
Type: Paper
Synopsis:
Background information is provided for a unique Devonshire specimen of the carabid beetle
Pterostichus cristatus (Dufour, 1820). It is reasoned that the species is a temporal relict in the
Dartmoor area and a rationale for its post-last glacial colonisation of Britain is outlined.

Butterflies on an Irish sea lough drumlin archipelago: the influence of survey and island geography
By: CADOGAN ENRIGHT & CAD ÓG MACLONNREACTAIGH, PETER B. HARDY & ROGER L. H. DENNIS
Page: 111–129
Type: Paper
Synopsis:
An orthodox island biogeography analysis is carried out on butterfly records from drumlin
islands in Strangford Lough and from sites on the surrounding mainland of Ireland recorded
during Butterfly Conservation (UK)’s Big Butterfly Count. Despite the short mid-summer
survey term restrictions and limited recording time, imposed for the BBC survey, the data
reveal distinctive geographical influences on island butterfly composition. In particular, it has
been most valuable for demonstrating the ability of Aphantopus hyperantus, a species currently
expanding its range in mainland Britain, to cross water barriers and colonise very small
biotopes. A sampling issue (numbers of visits to islands) is a prominent predictor of butterfly
numbers and species’ incidences. Even so, once the effect of varying numbers of visits to islands
has been accounted (removed), island geography (area, isolation, elevation) is shown to
influence butterfly records on the Strangford islands. Owing to their uniform composition but
varying dimensions, elevation, isolation, and land use, the lough islands present a potentially
valuable research environment for metapopulation (local population) scale studies and it is
hoped that the current findings will encourage more detailed research on them.
Chrysoclista soniae (Lepidoptera, Elachistidae, Parametriotinae), a new species from Portugal
By: MARTIN F. V. CORLEY
Page: 130–134
Type: Paper
Synopsis:
A new species of Chrysoclista Stainton, 1854 is described from Portugal, based on a single
male. It is closely related to C. splendida Karsholt, 1997 from central and northern Europe.
